Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig on 21 September 1983) is an American actress best well-known for her role in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost as well as Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Following the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington in Ohio and moved in Los Angeles. Her first role came to her as Rachel's Room's lead character in 2001 despite struggling financially. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002 with her portrayal of 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder which aired in Greenwich. In 2004 Grace was cast as Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost in which she was the main character for the initial two seasons. She was also awarded an Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. The actress starred as a character in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club in 2007 and Taken (2008) with Liam Neeson. She reprised her role for Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the lead role Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace returned to the character as Shannon for two additional episodes of Lost including the series finale. She appeared in 2013's sixth season of Californication. She plays Faith as a groupie, and is also a model stars. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. A member of the Gyllenhaal clan, she is the daughter of film makers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder cousin of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her first roles were in films of her father as an adolescent. With her brother, she also appeared in Donnie Darko (2000). Her next appearance was in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind both in 2002 and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal won critical praise in both of her roles as the main character of Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), which is an erotic romantic drama as well as Sherrybaby (2006). In 2006, she was also nominated for the Golden Globe Award. After several commercially successful films in 2006, including World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). The film was nominated for an Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Crazy Heart, (2009). The roles she played in subsequent films include Nanny McPhee and in the Big Bang and Hysteria. Other roles she has played included Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013, action thriller), actors in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and her role as the kindergarten teacher. In 2021 Gyllenhaal made her writing and directing debut with the psychological thriller The Lost Daughter for which she won The Lost Daughter the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
